In an inspiring appearance, Kashan Abedin, Chief Creative Officer of Torq Labs delivered the keynote address at the highly anticipated Ajeeb Design Fest. The event, held in collaboration with Ajeeb Studio and Team Neutral, celebrated creativity and design innovation in an enthusiastic crowd of industry professionals and design enthusiasts.

Abedin’s session delivered into the evolving landscape Animation & Vfx, sharing his vast expertise and insights from his extensive career, which spans over 18 years and includes collaborations with global brands like Disney, Samsung, Toyota etc.

In his speech, Kashan expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ajeeb Studio and their vibrant team, along with Team Neutral, for orchestrating a successful and inspirational event. “Their combined energy and vision truly made this an event to remember,” said Abedin, acknowledging the collaborative effort that brought the fest to life.

The Ajeeb Design Fest has solidified its reputation as a key event in the design community, and Abedin’s keynote address added a powerful highlight to an already stellar lineup of sessions.

3D Anamorpic Animation

In a bold leap into uncharted territories, Team Torq, fueled by an insatiable desire to transcend conventional limits, embraced the challenge of venturing into 3D Anamorphic Animation—a creative frontier largely unexplored in Pakistan. With an audacious spirit and a commitment to self-belief, the team embarked on a journey to unravel the mysteries of Anamorphic Animation, armed with only their ingenuity and passion.

The decision to dive into 3D Anamorphic Animation wasn’t merely a project; it was a proclamation to go beyond the ordinary, to push the boundaries of creativity, and to pioneer a form of animation rarely seen in the local landscape.With almost no precedent to follow and minimal external guidance, Team Torq placed unwavering trust in their collective creative instincts. It was a journey marked by experimentation, learning, and a steadfast belief that, with dedication and passion, they could conquer the complexities of 3D Anamorphic Animation.

Amidst the challenges, uncertainties, and late-night creative sessions, Team Torq triumphed. TORQ – DMP MOU Signing Ceremony

In a grand spectacle held at the opulent Double Hilton Riyadh, a pivotal moment unfolded as Torq Labs and Design Matters Production (DMP) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the presence of esteemed guests. This event not only solidified a strategic partnership but also set the stage for a transformative collaboration that promises to redefine the creative and business landscape within the Kingdom.

The ceremony commenced with the invigorating words of Mr. Imran Al Luqman, providing the starting speed to an event that held the promise of innovation and partnership. Following Mr. Luqman’s inspiring opening, Thamir Al Rajhi took the stage to articulate his vision for this groundbreaking collaboration.

Kashan Abedin, the visionary leader behind Torq Labs, then stepped forward to share insights into the achievements of the studio and its ambitious plans for the future. As the narrative unfolded, Mr. Faisal Shaukat, Creative Director at Torq Labs, graced the stage to delve into the core of Torq Labs’ strength—the power of creative instincts.

Amidst the resonance of visionary perspectives and creative prowess, the pinnacle moment arrived—the signing of the MOU. Kashan Abedin, representing Torq Labs, and Thamir Al Rajhi of Design Matters Production, came together to formalize a partnership that not only transcended ink on paper but marked the beginning of a transformative journey.

In an honor bestowed upon Torq Labs, we were invited by the Hakaya Misk Foundation, an initiative spearheaded by His Royal Highness Muhammad Bin Salman, to participate in the Media & Entertainment Conference held at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC). This event marked a significant collaboration where creativity, innovation, and expertise converged on a global stage.

As a team of four, we took center stage, conducting workshops that delved into the intricacies of animation and VFX. Our goal was to not only showcase our expertise but also to inspire and share knowledge with a diverse audience of creatives, enthusiasts, and industry professionals. The workshops were designed to be informative, engaging, and reflective of the cutting-edge work happening at Torq Labs.

The conference provided a unique opportunity to connect with production studios and creative minds from around the world. Engaging in conversations, sharing insights, and exploring collaborative possibilities became a thrilling aspect of our participation. These interactions not only expanded our network but also opened doors for potential future collaborations and partnerships. The event was a celebration of the rich tapestry of media and entertainment, and we left with not just new links but with a strengthened resolve to continue pushing the boundaries of our craft.
